Operation and maintenance of Subway Network

Capacity, experience and management in metropolitan transport
For more than 25 years, Metrovías operates and maintains the Subway network in the City of Buenos Aires, transporting more than 337.000.000 users in 2018.
In charge of management Metrovías has made important investments in remodeling stations, renewing tracks, signaling systems, electric substations, power stations and pumping equipment.
Today the net has 270 escalators, 98 elevators, 8 stair lifts, 2 travelators and 2 wheelchair lift platform. Metrovías operates its service with different fleet: Alstom, CAF, Mitsubishi, Nagoya, Fiat-Materfer, G.E.E., La Brugeoise and CNR.

Operation control center

From Operation Control Center (OCC), the maintenance and operation of the subway service is monitored and controlled. The professional team who Works there is in constant communication with personnel from traffic, rolling stock and stations, in order to minimize contingencies which might arise during the service as well as informing the user in real time about service situation. In 2015 a whole renovation of monitoring screens was carried out.

Maintenance commitment

Metrovías has implemented an intense program of Rolling stock maintenance, infrastructure and fixed installations which enables to transport more than a million passengers per day in a safe and reliable manner.
Since 1994 the availability of suitable cars for service has increased in peak hour service in a 188%
The number of failures per 100.000km was reduced from 69 in 1993 to 8,6 in 20018.

Commitment with quality

Since 2000 we carried out the process of certification of quality policies.

In the year 2016 we reaffirmed our commitment and certified the new version of the norm, ISO 9001:2015.

In the year 2017 we committed to the environment and obtained the certification of the Norm ISO 14001:2015
